Master Caution Light, no V8-6-4
The vehicle sat over the weekend, then started without the Malfunction Indicator Light. I drove it about thirty-five miles today with three or four engine start-stops; no problems. The vehicle went into "Eco" mode. I'll take it to a mechanic if the issue reappears and post the results...- DW in NM

What do you like about your Ram...
What do I like about my three, very base-model, Ram 1500 Tradesman, regular-cab, 5.7L Hemi pickups? . They cost less each time. I paid $26K out the door for the 2009, $25K for the 2014, and $22K for the 2019. . The 32-gallon tank. I love to fill-up and see the "Range" reading go over 700...- DW in NM

Anyone switched to 87 octane?
My three Hemi all run fine on 86 Octane. However, I definitely notice a two or three MPG increase when running 91 octane (actually, it's a 2 or 3 MPG drop when I use 86 octane as I normally run 91 octane). Please allow me to grab-onto this thread. I have a totally-stock 2014 Ram 1500 Tradesman, 2WD, 5.7L Hemi, 6-speed automatic with 110K miles on the odometer. A typical use for this vehicle is to drive 300 miles to Northern New Mexico or Utah, then spend the weekend driving dirt roads, looking... -

Whos got the most miles on their 5.7?
2009 with 185K, 2014 with 112K, 2019 with 2.2K. No problems with the 2009. The 2014 has always had an alignment issue and is on about its fourth set of tires. The 2019 has the !@!#!$!! gearshift dial, which I hate with all my heart.- DW in NM

"What DON'T you like about your 5th Gen RAM"?
I don't like the dial gearshift. No, actually, I hate the dial gearshift. It drives me crazy! I'm constantly reaching for the (non-extant) stalk. I'm also no fan of the backup camera that makes things five feet away appear as though they are fifteen feet or more distant.- DW in NM
