Bed rug or spray in bed liner

Maybe I've gone overboard ... My truck came from the dealer with the spray-in bed liner. I added a Lomax tri-fold the week I brought it home. Today I ordered a Gator rubber mat to keep things from sliding around. I've put more thought into the truck bed than I have the bed my wife and I have...

    MPG 3.92 compared to 3.21 ?

I insisted on 3.92 gears, regardless of MPG differences. I've been pleased with mine, just hit 2K miles. About 600 of that was round-trip from Houston to Dallas, cruise set at 79 mph most of the way. The rest of the miles is just local drives. I've not ever reset my MPG number, and pic shows...

Used my new 2019 as a truck ... Wife couldn't believe it!

That did occur to me as I was looking around the garage for old blankets. That they smelled like my dog made them 'outside use only' items.

Used my new 2019 as a truck ... Wife couldn't believe it!

Someone mentioned the ride quality ... My truck has the best ride of any vehicle I currently own. Also the only one that could tow any of the others with ease. That's a hell of a combination! But scratches in the bed? Makes me queasy just thinking about it ;-)

Used my new 2019 as a truck ... Wife couldn't believe it!

Nice set-up for the bike! I put a wheel chock in my older Silverado and used aluminum ramps to ride my Buell into the bed. Scary operation ... Especially the backing it out part.

Gotta love that range ... Week of Ram firsts

Flat and wind-free both directions. I wasn't romping on it, but did vary the engine speed now and then since my brain was in 'break in' mode. The truck seemed to prefer 80 mph to 70 mph ... Wasn't expecting that with 3.92, but respect it has 8 speeds to work with. Keeper!

What Else is In Your Garage

These two share garage space by the Ram. Dodge Viper is a 2006 coupe, stroked (522) and supercharged. Harley-Davidson is a 2007 Softail Deuce. I've kind of been ignoring them since the new Ram showed up, but will show them some attention on the next sunny weekend.

Used my new 2019 as a truck ... Wife couldn't believe it!

Yeah, I could have left the Lomax on ... 1,100 pounds of rock doesn't make as big a pile in the back of a truck as I thought it would. It sure sounded like a lot though! And yes, I did hand load them. And off loaded them by hand. And then carried them all over the yard to place them just like my...

Gotta love that range ... Week of Ram firsts

I was surprised to see my Eco light on more often than not when I was on the road. Benefits of flat portions of Texas perhaps. Cruise set at 80 most of the way. Seemed the 3.92 rear liked that speed just fine. Now if I could cut down on pee stops, I could make even better time with that big fuel...

    Military Roll Call!!

US Air Force, 1986-1996. Absolutely loved it. Would have gladly retired, wasn't in the cards. Long story, and nobody wants to get into ex-wife stories.

Gotta love that range ... Week of Ram firsts

I hear you there! I was going easy, cruising at "Not me, Officer" speeds. I read a lot of complaints about the MPG ... But mine averaged nearly 19 over the first 1,000 miles. I calculated it manually as well. My first Ram was an SRT-10, and it struggled to get 10. My supercharged Viper rarely...

Gotta love that range ... Week of Ram firsts

I know it's just simple math, but seeing an estimated range of 660 miles is still pretty cool. I took my first road trip in the new Ram this week; Houston to Dallas and back. Wouldn't need to refuel if you timed it right. I still had to make restroom stops though. Wait, TMI? The truck was...

    Best debadging solvent

I won't be removing any badges off my Ram, but I've lost count of emblems I've removed over the years ... Including dealer-added nonsense. My recipe is pretty simple > A hair dryer, Goo Gone or WD-40, enough time to do it without being rushed. I have also used fishing line a time or three on...

Used my new 2019 as a truck ... Wife couldn't believe it!

Even though I mentioned going to Home Depot to rent one of their trucks to haul the stones, I quickly changed course. The look my wife gave me when I mentioned that helped convince me ;-)

Used my new 2019 as a truck ... Wife couldn't believe it!

I don't really ask much of the 'truck' portion of pickups. I never used my SRT-10 as a truck, so I thought I'd break this new Ram in with a proper outing. I couldn't even tell the 1,100 pounds of rock was there. And yes, I know you don't need blankets and spongy things when you have a bed liner...
