I know this is a big problem with the hemi . But on the positive side of the Ram truck I love the handling cab space Ram boxes ETC . I took my time tearing it down had some awesome step by step instructions with pics from a fellow Ram forum member ( thank you ) did the work with sons ( 16&13 )...
Well just got thru tearing it down .. ( hot ass hell out side just saying ) I had one failed lifter ( NON MDS ) go figure and one wiped out cam lobe ( intake ) see pics . Going back and doing MDS delete . Looking like 800.00 in parts not including oil and such ..
I agree on pop the valve cover and take a look ..this lifter failure crap ****** me off .. I am beginning to wonder if ALL 5.7 hemi have this problem..
This sounds so familiar had the same issues .......I hate to say it but it most likely is a lifter failure ( taken mine apart as we speak ) which means replacing the cam .. Have you gotten any misfire codes ? The easiest way to tell is to remove the valve cover ,take out the fuse to the fuel...
Guys I’m replacing the camshaft in my 2013 ram. Doing a MDS delete was wondering what the part number was for the camshaft .do I use the same factory camshaft or can I use another camshaft that doesn’t have the MDS
