I'm not sure if MDS works the same way on 2500's as on 1500's. Tow/haul doesn't turn off MDS on 4th gen 1500's but it does turn off MDS on 5th gen 1500's.
I installed a pedal commander almost four years ago and have had no issues relating to that. I did remove it before the truck was hauled to the dealership because of the RF hub failure and rear window replacement. But it went right back in when we got the truck back.
The RHO is likely the lowest price trim level you can get with the Hurricane HO. Even so, with a base MSRP of $70k it'll likely be as expensive as a Limited once I add all the options I'd want. I mean, it will definitely have the looks. But I'm worried the exhaust note will let it down...
As stated several times throughout the thread, it's a theory. No one has been able to prove that disabling MDS causes more lifter wear. Just like it's a theory that MDS is the cause of lifter failures. People come out with videos to present their theories on lots of stuff. And may provide...
His post was over six months ago. I'd bet he solved his head unit issue.
But I'm fully on board with your recommendations. I've been a Crutchfield customer for decades and I'd highly recommend them as well. Prices for the actual component are not the best you can find, but when you...
Congrats on your new car. Glad to hear you're happy with it. One of my neighbors had one of those back when they were new. I didn't like them then and I don't like them now, but it just goes to show that there's a buyer for every car. Enjoy!
I've used Royal Purple 20-820 filters in the past. Made more of a mess when I replaced it but it fits in there. I eventually went back to OEM filters since I'm changing oil at 5k miles now.
No, definitely not true. I've bought genuine Ford parts from an ebay seller that is actually a dealership. I'm not saying that's the case with these parts or this seller. Just that you can't automatically determine no new genuine parts are sold on ebay just because it's ebay. Definitely be...
That's good to know. Not surprising either. That would help explain why the cam wears to a degree, but it doesn't explain the lifter rollers failing. From what I've seen it's the lifters which fail first, then taking out the cam.
That's exactly right.
That's not the case for 5th gens though, which helps explain some of the confusion. We get a lot of cross-posting so it's good to be clear about which gen you're talking about when making claims about something like this.
Yeah, I watched that video too Rick. I don't think we can come to any conclusions about the lifters he used in that video. He doesn't mention anything about the history of them other than to say they were lifters he had laying around from when he used to replace them. We have no way of...
