Some of the weird issues with steering boxes I've found is people run the same power steering fluid for years and years till there is debris built up in the system causing wear to parts. Then the boxes don't seems to last as long. Plus larger tires tend to add stress to already limited steering...
Vacuum issues? If the vacuum is fading away it will flip to DEF mode and the vents will die. Then when the vacuum get strong again then it returns back to vents. You might look for vacuum leaks typically I find the cruise control vacuum motor with holes or a vacuum line with a crack in it.

Yea... It just a wore out sensor. I would go to local part store and pick up a new crank sensor. You have to pull the starter to replace the sensor though. Typically I can knock it out in about 20 minutes.

Ummm... I've got to drive 360 miles just for some of the parts now. I really don't think you want to pay for all that. Its really simple to build and if you need to call me I'll talk you through it.

Personally I say the 24V.
The engine is totally bullet proof too just there is electronics involved which is great because it make diagnostic so much easier than guessin' the 12V's. Then the 12V p7100 pump might be bullet proof but doesn't have any dynamic timing like VE or VP44 pumps. So range...
Personally sound like a air leak issues and being you might have the nose down in some cases and nose up in others. Which nose down it will start every time where nose up it might be drawing air in.
I hate to say it but no its not... My 2002 truck came with 265/75 R16 and the soor sticker say it came with 245/75 R16's same with my 1996 Dodge Ram came with 235/85 R16's and its posted also for 245/75 R16's neither truck is correct on the door sticker!
But remember that not safe.
The flash high idle is completely safe because it can cancel if...
Speed above 0 MPH
Coolant temp above 170*F
Brake Pedal Pressed
Transmission put in gear (auto)
Throttle pedal pressed
With yours the throttle remains high and could be dangerous... There is no way...
