Pump whining on startup
I just had a noise similar to this. Dealership thought it was the water pump. Replaced the water pump and it was still making a similar, but different noise. 4 days later, apparently I need a new alternator. My truck only has 40,000 miles on it. Only 40,000 miles and it needs a new alternator...- pmccarragher
