Anyone else debate between Rebel and Limited? What was your deciding factor?

4th quarter 2018 is the official line, but of course that starts next week. Probably won't be on lots until sometime in mid-November at the earliest.

    2020 MY - when?

They also need to "reset" when the new MY comes out, since the 2019 Ram came out so early in 2018. MY 2019 will be a long one. Late summer/early fall for orders with 2020s hitting lots towards the end of 2019 will be my guess.

    Ram wins!

The 2019 Silverado is also brand new. Kind of sad that it lost to the now 4 year old F-150 (which granted is a great truck, but still).

New limited owner, help me understand the options I got

The eTorque is the new mild hybrid system available that replaces the alternator with a battery and gives more low end torque (but does not change peak torque) and slightly improves mpg. The shorter rear gear (higher axle ratio) gives more torque to the rear wheels, which is better for towing...

Which trim level tends to have a higher resale value?

It is probably the Rebel now, but since you can now effectively build a near Rebel spec Ram on any trim that may change. If/when the TRX comes out it will fall as that will be the most desirable. Typically with most vehicles it is the mid spec trims (Big Horn/Laramie for Ram) that hold their...

Is it wise to wait for used 2019?

1 year isn't a good data point for depreciation. Vehicles depreciate a lot over their first year then slow down. Buying ~<1 year old car used is always a great deal. Just have to find one and put aside any worries as to why the previous owner got rid of it so quickly. But they are not great...

    Percent off from MSRP

A lot will depend on how well the new GM twins do.

    Looks good in Blue

With the blacked out emblems wheels and sport badges yes. But the paint looks to be Blue Streak Pearl which is available in the US. Just need to build a Laramie with the sport appearance package and it will look 99% the same (or Big Horn with the sport appearance package, but will have standard...

    Help w/Trim Levels

Roughly: Tradesmen=XL Big Horn = XLT Laramie = Lariat Longhorn = King Ranch Limited = Platinum Rebel doesn’t really have a Ford trim equivalent. It is not as hardcore as the Raptor but it is much much cheaper. You’ll find, however, that since Ram doesn’t have the same sales dominance Ford...

WHY RAM HASN’T SURPASSED FORD IN TRUCK SALES!!!!!!

That is a poor argument. Nothing is stopping Ram from offering a Ram 4500 or whatever. Same with GM. But Ford has run away with that market and there is not enough scraps left to build a profitable business case around them for others. I like Ram, but I am not going to pooh-pooh Ford and their...

WHY RAM HASN’T SURPASSED FORD IN TRUCK SALES!!!!!!

To be fair they all do that (include light and medium duty sales figures together). Ram doesn't break down 1500, 2500, and 3500 sales. They just report Ram Pickup sales which is all three. Ditto GM with the Silverado (1500 and HD models) and Sierra (1500 and HD models). Ford only includes up to...

Front splitter deployment at 35 mph.

It should be noted this only occurs with the standard suspension. The air suspension does not have this feature as the vehicle lowers at speed instead.

    Just ordered a Laramie Blackout

The annoying thing is RAM offers that...in Canada. Body color grille/mirrors/door handles with black headlights and trim is essentially what the Sport trim is. Hopefully it will migrate south next year.
