Do the silver trim rings pop off or is there more to it?

Gonna delete the silver trim and paint it matte black.a9a63fc4a49c9adc4655565f779bd678.jpg

They can be but needs to be done from behind they have snap in parts that you can pry open to pull off without destroying them

I popped mine out with my pocket knife, painted them to match the truck, and popped them back in. Just be prepared to hit the horn plenty of times getting them in and out. And don’t forget the clear coat.

You are right, they pry out nice and easy with a pocket knife.

Got mine out and painted black to match the center trim I painted Saturday. Love the look.

My steering wheel pieces did funky with the paint, even after sanding/prep. I'll pull them next weekend and sand/repaint.

Very easy to remove without messing with the steering wheel cover/airbag if anyone is curious.

I've got red LEDs en route for the map lights and dome light to complete things. Very happy....

Hmmm I didn’t sand mine. Just cleaned with a prep spray before painting. Same with the vent trim pieces.

Not sure what it was...it was extremely humid here yesterday. I popped them back out and repainted. Good to go now....2e515e4c9e42e02706d8d0c0ce1a3ea5.jpg

Very nice, I like how they match the black in the steering wheel cover. Gives it a nice even look all around. I wish I had the black airbag cover.

OMG that is beautiful.
Thanks man, hey paint is cheap once the big ticket mods are done! And they have a big impact. To be honest the photo doesn't do it justice....sitting in the driver's seat it feels clean and perfect. I may hit a few more pieces here and there so the black is evenly distributed but I love it.

It's the little things like this, the attention to detail, that I really appreciate. Love the personalization. Now if I can just talk to "that one guy" who put curbfinders on his truck ...

Did you used adhesion promoter?, this is the no. 1 mistake people make when painting plastic stuff.
