My truck threw a p068 before dying an now it won't start it will crank for days but won't fire up it's started for a few minutes then I got into the pedal in the test drive and it died.i had just done timing chains so I checked my timing marks and they still line up at TDC, checked battery starter that's all good . Fuel pump is on and working. So my question is would a p068 cause a no start.

P0068 is a MAP/MAF to throttle position code. So something isn't lining up when between your MAP sensor and TPS when you are trying to start the engine. The first thing I'd check is to make sure you didn't forget to plug the MAP sensor back in.

As far as not starting at all goes, the only thing I can think of is being 180° out on the cam and seeing that you already checked that, I'm stumped atm. I suggest that you check your electrical connections, make sure they're good and then check your fuses, make sure none are blown.

I'll run the multimeter while I try to figure it out I might just pull it all back apart to look at the tensiors and gears to make sure I didn't miss anything my map Is missing the red safety clip so maybe it's not all the way seated. I have a hp tuner I used to scan while cranking an it showed tps at 11 percent but it didn't connect to the rest of my information so it might be a bad map or connection too . I have to wait till the first to get my new map so I'll do the checks while I wait so any suggestion is awesome

So I got it narrowed down my throttle body isn't opening when I start the car and if it is not enough I wedged a hammer in the throttle body and it fired up first turn till I turned off the vehicle then again when I used a aviation snip blades wedged (smaller gap) and it started then died after a 2 seconds

Last time I saw something similar was on my 69 Barracuda carb, I had to prop the throttle blade open because the electric choke wasn't set for the altitude and temperature I was at. If I were to guess, I'd think your TPS has gone bad, but that's just a guess.

Just be careful not to spin it.

Also, I have a brand new tps that I can’t use so if you want it, it’s yours, just pay shipping. If it’s worth it.

Be careful not to spin what the iac? Or the truck because I'm not gonna lie the battery died while trying to start it up and it sounded like it was just a free spin which makes me nervous but it's only happened when the battery drops pass 12 volts

An maybe on the tps I got one from oriellys last night and a map ,installed the tps got nothing installed map sensor got my throttle response but the new tps is still installed so it may be the combination of the two I haven't figured that out yet. my volt test where inconclusive bc my probe pins weren't sharp enough to get into the terminal correctly so idk if the readings are accurate until I retry with paper clips or sewing needles.but I'd much rather pay shipping then the 40 bucks for the one I bought so I'll let you know on that
