Well, as a public service announcement and contrary to what the guys at Lowe's might tell you, retaining wall blocks don't weigh 30lbs each. I did the math 45 blocks x 30lbs = 1350lbs. Add the pallet and pushing 1400lbs. It's over my payload some, but I figured it's a RAM, it'll do it. Got home and weighed a block, it was 47lbs. 45x47= 2115lbs. It squatted pretty heavy, but drove fine. Turned my 2" rear lift into a 4" drop.... Needless to say, I've dropped to making trips with 30 blocks at a time now.

Way back in the early 90's I had a 1992 F150 extended cab 4x4. Truck was junk. Had the 5.0 and got about 10 MPG. Anyway, was building a fence around my yard and went and bought everything (wooden fence panels). No idea how much actual weight was in there but the leaf springs were bowed upside down and they were sitting on the stops. My steering was so light the truck was wandering all over so had to slow way down.

Another time had a 1994 F250 extended cab 4x4 and had it loaded up with concrete blocks up to the top of the bedrails. Think it was about 3000lbs but being an F250 it held up pretty good.

Holy crap. Good thing you didn’t blow out the wheel bearings. One time I saw an older ford ranger with a pallet of bricks in the bed of the truck. Front tires almost getting off the ground and back bumper was about 2” off the ground. Needless to say I steered clear of him...

It is ok There is so much extra capacity. GVWR is just a government nanny number. Payload is irrelevant it is just a number subtracted from a number.

Good times.

Love seeing a RAM truck working though. They were designed for that, even though they seem to just be today's station wagon.

On these baby half tons with semi-floating axles, that’s just not true. A bearing failure could be disastrous.

I didn't mean to be overloaded, just to be used as trucks. Just to be clear. Sarcasm inserted in the first part of my post.
