    It was running normal (not hot,.) and as I came to a red light, she kinda "dieseld" and died. After a few attempts to restart, it acted like the battery was dead and wouldn't turn over at all. (Battery wasn't dead...) and the temp gage was maxed... evidently the water pump bearing went out...

    06 3.7 with 170k miles... Lost water pump - replaced. Crank attempt (manually .) turned then jammed...turned crank backwards, turned then jammed...forward, turned then jammed... Advised to put some trans fluid on top of each cylinder.... Vacuumed fluid with small hose through plug holes...

    Fuel pump or whole tank assembly?

    Thank you sir. Can't I confirm power at the pump connector before dropping the 06 tank? Likewise, the 02 pump, can't it also be tested beforehand? Just trying to limit the damage if either conditions prevent success.

    Fuel pump or whole tank assembly?

    Fuel pump in my '06 1500 3.7 quit after running low on gas a few times. Banged the tank and finally got her crank. No problems until the next time she ran low... Refuelled and no crank right there at the gas pump.. Banging the tank didn't help this time... No sounds from the tank when the key...
