Yeah, that was pretty much what I was thinking. I know the 5th gen is pretty similar to the 4th.
I need to pick my truck up from service on Friday, maybe I'll see if I can crawl under a new one while I'm there

Hey all,
I have a 2012 2500 crew cab and found an OEM set of running boards from an 18/19 2500 available locally. I've done some searching online and can't quite figure out if they will bolt up. Some say they work across all 4th gen years, others say no.
Just wondering if anyone has...
It shouldn't be a problem to find one, the 2500s are still on the old body style and those definitely had 8' bed caps available. Check with your local cap dealer

I have 17s, not 20s, but at the dealer I get a full set installed for about $1100 for my '12 2500. I'm on my second set, got around 45k on the first.
I got 95k on the Rugged Trails that came on the truck

I've hit some bumps at speed in my 2012 2500 that made the rear end move. Gives you a little "woah" and then rights itself and you keep going

If it's part of the engine, I would think it should be covered under the powertrain warranty. Maybe check another dealer or contact corporate

The exhaust studs that hold the heat shield will break. Hopefully they break under warranty. My passenger side was covered, driver side waited until I was out of warranty

I forgot to ever give an update. It turns out the ground on the passenger side had loosened up and would barely touch at times. Not sure how I missed that the first time I looked through the engine, but once I tightened it back up all the issues resolved

I have used one for the past few years hauling a 6x12 enclosed trailer for work - filled with tools and supplies. What it really does is helps alleviate the transmittance of vibrations and bumps from the trailer to the truck. There is a noticeable difference going from a dtandard receiver to...
Unfortunately I didn't have time to get in to it this weekend, but I did notice this morning that the voltage jumps whenever any of the issues pop up

Hmm... could be identical, could be totally different, guess I'll find out. Thanks for the idea though, there is a module down where a clutch would be. I'll see if I cab find a wiring diagram to narrow it down

So I've done a fair amount of searching and haven't come up with any results regarding that- did that come from a fsm or tech bulletin? I'm wondering if that is something I can test by myself or if I need to go to the dealer for that.
Thanks!
