I’ve had both a 13 1500 and now a 14 2500. They are totally different trucks. I have had older 3/4 ton trucks and it does not ride like them. I don’t think it’s rough or harsh. I like to call it “firm”. It’s not jarring but you can tell you’re in a truck that has some weight to it. The coils do make a difference and without giving up in any payload. These trucks handle some weight. I’ve hauled same tractor and trailer with my 1500 and it was pretty much on bump stops. In the 2500 she don’t even look like she’s loaded. I don’t pass up many gas stations. She loves them hahaha

I completely agree with you. I don't feel like the ride is that bad at all. After I took about 20 pounds of air out of the tires it really wasn't much more stiff than the 1500 with leafs.

Yea I'm ok with it riding like a truck like I said I had a F250 with leafs in the rear and I'm sure that was way harsher of a ride and I didnt think it was that bad until you took a turn at 55+ and there was a huge imperfection the ass end would get a little crazy but I was used to it. Now lets see what they give me on a trade....

Getting 16k off of the sticker they probably are not going to give you a bunch for your trade.

Doubt you’d get anything like that on the Ram.

Actually, you can. My 2016 Cummins rode so bad, that the ass end would step sideways when hitting bad bumps. Now it had 20's and shorter sidewalls, so it just sucked.

My 2018 rides really well, but it has 18" wheels and some sidewall. All of my other Cummins trucks had 17's, so no issues there either.

I've hit some bumps at speed in my 2012 2500 that made the rear end move. Gives you a little "woah" and then rights itself and you keep going

I went the mega cab route back in 2014 because we had our third kid on the way and still needed a truck. We take a couple of long road trips every year, and the interior space is fantastic. I have three car seats across the back row with one being a rear-facing one behind the driver's seat, no issues with room between the two. We also haul our two 60ish pound labs around with the kids and us. I hate to say it, but the wife has taken over the truck. I only get to claim it on weekends.
The ride isn't bad. I have the factory 20s, and the first thing I did was chalk the tires to get the pressure right. My mother in law has a 1500, and I prefer the ride in my 2500. Plus the truck will be looking out for your health as you walk in from the back forty of the parking lot. I don't think you will be disappointed, but best of luck working the numbers. If the numbers don't work for you right now, don't force yourself into a tight spot. You'll end up hating the truck.

So turns out the rebates for October are a lot better. Picking her up tomorrow! Got them up to 35.5k on trade for my 16 with trade in savings on tax its like getting 37.6k for it. Getting the new limited at 17k off mrsp to boot cant wait to pick it up. Hopefully they dont pull anything shady tomorrow as its a 3 hour drive one way.

Congrats! I wouldn't trade my 2500 Mega Cab for anything. Well, anything other than a 3500 Mega Cab, that is! Post lots of pics when you get it.

Oh yeah! More than once, at speed, I either hit rough pavement, a pot hole or whatever, My '17 2500 CC LB caused a huge sphinchter pucker. You just can't lose your mind over it and jam on the brakes. It'll play out, just steer. I used to clip apexes in the "S" turns with my 1500. Cannot do that in an HD!

Looking to be about 48.7k financed out the door with tax, tags and title. Thats with no down payment and only 2k equity on trade. Looked up trade in value shows 56k lol maybe I should just flip it for 7k profit.

I came out of a 2015 Silverado 1500 to my truck and I sure don't miss the 1500 one bit. With my family and tt it was maxed out. The 2500 handles the weight with confidence. The ride is much harsher but it's a real truck not a wannabe car with a bed on the back. I'm old school and prefer it that way. It rides like a truck is. Supposed to and not like a sedan Deville. I think you know you want one....so just do it! I have ZERO regrets
ha ha, No REGERTS ?! what? I was hungry.

That truck looks great. I really like yours now but that 2500 is a beautiful blank canvas. Grab and let the modding process begin!

Wife told me I have to take it easy on mods... I assume that just meant buy a bunch of stuff but only tell her about half of them.

Here she is in the parking spot almost doesnt fit compared to the old one.
