I had to take the truck to the dealership for an unrelated recall and while I was there I asked them to take out the extra oil. Turns out there was one quart over filled.
Since then I have no longer heard the ticking noise. Thank you everyone for your help!
I noticed it when the truck was idle. I'll pay attention to see if it happens while I drive too.
I checked the engine oil level, it looks like there's oil above the "safe" marking. Could the problem be that there's too much oil in there?
