Is there a definitive answer on whether siphoning cannot be done on these RAM trucks? I have a 2015. We do spend some time in Florida. Just checking the message board down there and there have been a rash of fuel tanks being siphoned dry.
I sent Jessie a private message. I don’t feel comfortable doing it myself but I wouldn’t mind paying someone to do the work with his kit. Providing that everything will work as people claim.
We are between North/central Western Florida and downstate New York. I don’t know if any of the...
Right. Is we are between Long Island, NY and Florida. Hopefully in Florida permanently by the end of this year. have some of the guys here has good results with the RevMax bypass kit? Are there any detailed videos showing how this is done? And what were the resulting transmission...
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 with the 5.7l hemi and the ZF 8HP70 transmission. Just over 90,000 miles.
I did both differentials fluid changes with Redline fluids, transfer case with Amsoil MV atf. I also removed the Mopar factory transmission pan and put the PPE pan in. I went with the Valvoline...
Yesterday I drained the cooling system. Then removed the original thermostat, cleaned all surfaces, put the rubber ring back in and put the bolts back in. Then refilled with distilled water and a quart of flush. I drove it for @ 70 minutes, drained, filled again with distilled water, drove...
I took all of the spacers out of the PPE pan. Then I took them to the bench grinder stone wheel. I took about an eighth of an inch off of one side. Then cleaned them up with the wire wheel. Then I put them on a couple of flat files to finish them off. Now they fit the height of the holes...
Do you think I should remove the spacers or leave them? It was a struggle getting them in the first time. The holes in the PPE pan are a hair smaller than the factory Mopar spacers. I had to clean up the holes a bit. I even cleaned the spacers on a bench grinder wire wheel then gave them a...
I received the new 1/4” CDI torque wrench a couple days ago. I also bought another new gasket for the PPE transmission pan. I’m waiting for a new set of pan bolts which should arrive tomorrow
I know the old torque wrench was the problem. However the spacers were flush with the gasket side...
I have been buying a lot of tools bit by bit for the past few years, including a lot of Knipex pliers. Those Japanese pliers have a specific purpose and they are worth their weight in gold when that situation arises.
The company is called “Engineer” . Those pliers are called “Neji-saurus RX”...
Let me ask a hypothetical question. Is it normal protocol to use a new set of transmission pan bolts when changing the pan or servicing the filter?
Because when I took the original pan bolts out some of them had a little bit of corrosion. I put them on the bench grinder wire wheel and cleaned...
I have three torque wrenches. All from harbor freight. 1/2 inch & 3/8” are the Icon brand. They don’t have a 1/4” torque wrench, only the Pittsburgh brand. That’s what I used. I don’t like this thing and it’s going back. It has a dial on the bottom which is supposed to lock the setting in...
I have a friend who is also a DIY mechanic. Over the years he has recommended some really good tools to me. One of these pliers is made by a Japanese company called “engineer”. The pliers are called “ Neji-saurus”.
They are specifically designed to remove stripped screws of various types...
I have a small problem now. I was getting ready to do the third drain and fluid refill on the 8hp70 transmission
Although I followed the torque pattern exactly to the instructions from PPE I noticed a tiny leak around the rear edge of the pan bolts . I got out my 1/4 inch torque wrench and...
I just did a transmission drain first thing in the morning and then filled it again (according to those specifications instructions that were posted.)
I really like this new PPE pan. The fact that they moved the drain plug over is very good. I called the company a couple of days ago and was...
I did about 25 miles this evening. I have it the rear end jacked up again. Tomorrow that 3 liter pump bottle will arrive. I got a couple more gallons of the MaxLife MV ATF today.

I will drain the pan and refill again...
I would like to thank everyone for all the helpful information. There’s a wealth of knowledge here!
I’ve got the new PPE transmission pan in and torqued to 110 inch pounds. I’ve got the fluid level correct. I’m going to drive it around tonight. Then jack up the rear wheels again 9”, drain...
Will do.
I’m actually down in Florida right now. When I turned the ignition to “run” to check the transmission temperature it was already at 86°F. I disabled the traction control and did the proscribed gear changes (on that green instructions photo). Then got back under the vehicle to top off...
I just ordered something on Amazon that holds 3 L and has good reviews. Right now I just got about 4 1/2 quarts of the max life ATF into the new PPE pan. That’s what it started dripping out so I put the plug-in hand tight.
I’m getting ready to start it up and put it through the gear...
Good morning,
I got a set of socket adapters so I can use my 1/4” torque wrench on the transmission pan bolts. PPE says between 8 & 10 foot pounds. Once I get the new pan in and torqued. I will
tighten those three transmission mounting bolts. Is there a required torque spec on that?
I have...
