    Yellow LED Fog Lights?

If you want the best of both worlds, you can get amber/white LED fog light bulb replacements. Turn on your fog lights and they are white. Turn them off then on again, and they are amber. Plug and play. This is the only place I have seen them...

    Dead Battery after 3 years

Mine went dead just after 5 years (about 2 months ago). No warning, just boom! Wouldn't start. I replaced the battery and good as new, no issues.

    K & N filter

I've run K&N in my vehicles for about 30 years and never had an issue. I put on in my 2017 Hemi Ram and no issues. Performance picked up at touch and fuel economy increase a touch but too about 200 Km before I noticed the improvements. I keep it clean and keep it oiled (lightly).

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Three weeks ago, I replaced my open diff carrier with an LSD and replaced the parking brake shoes while at it. The following week, an oil change. This past weekend, rear pads and rotors, adjusted parking brake shoes, switched over to winter wheels (as pictured) and swapped out the OEM halogen...

For the guys who think they get more power with 91 octane fuel

The HEMI has a 10:1 Compression Ratio. The owners manual recommends a minimum of 89 octane. The same as with my old 94 Intrepid ES with the 3.5L (10:1 & min. 89 Octane). I ran the Intrepid on 91 Octane (sometimes 93 or 94 for a treat) and got great performance and amazing fuel mileage (37mpg...

What did you do with your 4th Gen this week?

Rear rotors, pads and parking brake shoes. Switched over to the winter wheels (Rebel wheels in the pic) and now going to wash, wax and detail the interior then put the Weather Tech mats back in for the winter and store my Limited mats 'till spring. Tomorrow I may switch the OEM Halogens over...

Torque specs variations for ring gear and pinion pre-load

The 30 inch/lbs falls within the 20-30 which also happens to fall within the 15-35, so you are safe with the 30 in/lbs. The 9.25" diff had ring gear torque of 65 ft/lbs in earlier models then 75 ft/lbs in later models. There is a big mess about this. All of my older New Process 9 1/4" diffs...

    How to: Install LSD!

Thanks for the post. I replaced my open carrier with a Jegs LSD (made for them by Eaton, apparently). The procedure is not unlike that for a New Process diff, but the torque specs and some tolerances are different. There has been some conflict with regards to the torque for the ring gear...

    Installing ZF Posi Carrier Swap

UPDATE: Installed JEGS Posi (LSD) into my ZF 9.25 to replace the open carrier. Replaced the parking brake shoes at the same time. All went smooth and am very happy with the results. A special thanks to DILLIGAF for help with the proper specs for the ZF diff. I also replaced the OEM diff...

2015 1500 hemi finally needing tires....what are your suggestions & providers?

Well yours seem to have a little more tread than mine at current. In addition to keeping them properly inflated and not spinning them, I also rotate them regularly. I don't haul a lot with my truck, but when I do, it is usually in a trailer...not sure if that makes a difference. As I...

2015 1500 hemi finally needing tires....what are your suggestions & providers?

Well if they were half gone at 19K miles and you replaced them as a result of a sidewall cut, then you theoretically should have gotten 38-40K miles from them. I currently have about 42-43K miles on mine, as I only run them in the summer. I keep them properly inflated and try not to spin them...

2015 1500 hemi finally needing tires....what are your suggestions & providers?

I have a 2017 RAM 1500 Limited. 136,000Km (about 85,000 Miles). I still have the original Good Year Wrangler SRA on it but have just bought a set of Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 for it for next year. I may still get one more season out of the Good Years. I got the set for $1000 CAD ($250 ea)...

    Installing ZF Posi Carrier Swap

Thanks. The 115 ft/lbs. sounds more realistic than the 166 ft/lbs. What did viscosity oil did you use? 75W-140 or 80W-90?

    Installing ZF Posi Carrier Swap

I found some specs online showing the same for the older 9 1/4" as for the ZF but in some service procedures, they use different specs. I finally found some for the ZF and they are a little different than the older unit. I'll let you know if I find anything on a PDF Service Manual.

    Installing ZF Posi Carrier Swap

I just finally found out the proper specs for the ZF. I sure hope this helps other folks out there who are doing the same swap out. I am aware the two ring gears are the same size (both 9 1/4" or 234.5mm) but the bolt spacing is a larger spread pattern on the ZF and uses a larger metric bolt...

What did you do with your (new) stock tires?

I'm still running the original Good Years (20"). 139,000 Km (86,000 Miles) on the truck but I switch them over to the 17" Rebel wheels with the factory Toyo Open Country tires for the winter. I figure I've got one more summer season left on them (Good Years), then scrap.

    Installing ZF Posi Carrier Swap

I'm swapping out my rear differential carrier in my 2017 Ram. It has a 9.25 ZF diff. Currently it has an open differential and I am swapping it out with a LSD (Posi). I am having a huge issue finding the proper specs and tightening references for the ZF diff. I have the specs and all for the...
