Intermittent no start, click troubleshooting 2015 Ram 1500 Big Horn 5.7

Had a very similar problem on my 2015 ECD. I troubleshot it to the starter. I was ready to pull the starter, got under there and found the nut on the solenoid terminal as loose as a goose. Cleaned it all up, tightened it down and was good ever since. Probably came off the assembly line only...

What grease/lube for power running boards?

I've had the Amp Research ones on 3 different Rams....and love em (so does my wife). FWIW, and IMHO, they're in a location to take a beating....lubrication-wise (heavy use, relatively low to the ground, pounded by road dirt/debris etc.) On all three trucks, I put mud flaps on to help protect em...

How much better is a 2500 for towing?

I totally agree with everything Tulecreeper said in post #2. Very good information. I was in practically in the exact same situation as you, but my truck was a fully optioned-out 2015 ECD Longhorn. I finally sold it off and bought a '23 2500 Tradesman w/6.4L gasser w/6.5' bed along with a...

Does A New 6.4 Have Special break in Oil?

The factory fill is PUP. I had em change the oil/filter at 1000 miles with fresh PUP/Mopar filter as the truck was already 9 months old (see post 10 above). I also had em check & top off the differentials, if needed, as I was fixing to tow a light trailer on a 2000+ mile trip.

    6.4 Oil Filter Part Number

2023 2500 Ram: PUP and the standard WIX 57060 every 5K miles for mine. The XP57060 version is also good, but some say that it's designed more for longer drain intervals. FWIW, there's an oil/filter discussion thread for this exact engine on HDRAMS.com if you're interested.

    Clay bar question

Definitely not a waste of time.... Take a thin plastic bag (Walmart style), put your hand in it, go to the roof, or hood, of the vehicle, use your fingers inside the bag to lightly drag em across the surface. You should feel the kind of "grit" that the clay bar will remove. It's almost...
