    I asked around before I installed my Recon tailgate bar and what I got from it was that Recon seems to be the better brand and that all brands tend to leak near the ends, so you should seal them up with some silicone before you install them or get them wet.

    I seem to recall some of your Canadian neighbors having issues with their remote start, last year, when it was really cold and they were using their block heater. While you're waiting for them to chime in, you might try a search of this site and see what pops up.

    I'd check the pcv valve. If it's clogged or stuck closed, the engine may be venting oily air thru this hose and into your air cleaner.
