I've run a large magnet that partially surrounds the oil filter.
Out of curiosity I cut the filter open and indeed I had a layer of fine metallic particles where the magnet sits.
I have a 2007 2500 Cummins. Oil change every 5K with dino oil. It only has 125K on it but has hauled a 2200# cabover...
it's the new "Reset" where government knows best. I'll never sell my 2007 Cummins. We're looking to replace our 2005 Honda Pilot and I'm going to have to research Honda's involvement in this. That's not mentioning the bs electric parking brakes and the stall/start madness. Pushing that button...
After a fairly tough Baja trip my tire was almost dragging on the ground. I bought a replacement winch and use a ratchet strap attached to the frame rails and run across the spare. This is bulletproof and takes the load off the winch.
Carli Suspension has a thoroughly engineered system for your truck. Pricey but it's the best in the business. I don't see if your truck is 2wd or 4wd? https://www.carlisuspension.com/ram-1500/2009-17/
If you have a lemon law in you state retain your documentation. The Turbo Diesel Register is a great forum to join. It's $35/year for four magazines and the guys on there have a wealth of knowledge. As stated find another dealer and open up a case with Ram. https://www.turbodieselregister.com/
If it's a 49 state HO federal truck you've got a gem. Change all the fluids, check the brakes etc. the TDR forum is great along with Cummins Forum. The TDR has a section entitled what to do with a recently acquired Cummins or something like that. OH get new quality tires.
Are the rims stock? The diesel shop I use removes the retainer clips on the lugs when installing aftermarket rims. I've frequently read where this has happened with aftermarket rims.
There's some articles where guy lube the "sealed" bearings through the ABS port and getting 400K out of them.
Personally I got in a group buy for Dynatracs hubs PlusDynatrac had a big rebate for them and their BJ's.
We went to the International Auto Show in San Diego. There was very little interest in the Big Three trucks. I feel the days of driving a 3.5 ton vehicle around when you don't tow, use one to make a living or carry a cabover are about over.
You don't need it. Every 10K or so I run a tank of Extreme Diesel injector cleaner. I take the truck up our mountains and down to the desert and back getting it at full temperature. Power Service like water in my opinion.
I have Carli's Commuter system and in my opinion it's hardly street tuned. I have a 2007 5.9 2500 4wd Cummins with a 300# shell , 200# of bagged gravel in the back and 285-75-17 Toyo AT3's set at 35# rear,50 psi front. Previously I bought Bilstein's from them and they were worse. CJC assured me...
They're not grocery getters. Throw some Extreme Diesel injector cleaner in every 5K or so and go on a 50+ mile run with hills. It helps cut down on regens and will clean out the bs emissions equipment. I have a 2007 5.9 and run it. Power Service is like water. You have to run so much in order...
I run R-95 renewable in my 2007 5.9 Cummins 4wd. I just filled up and my overhead's reading 23.9 on the lie o meter. It's probably getting 21 mpg. That's freeway coming home from North County's Carlsbad to San Diego. The truck runs way cleaner and gets 2+ mpg.
