Since it's looking like spring is here, I'm about to look into getting a new set of wheels/tires. I have a '12, if it matters, stock setup for now but eventually I'd like a lift in the future.

I have never had to buy wheels for a truck so that's why I post this question. What numbers am I looking for as far as offset, center bore, backspacing etc. I should be looking at so I know I'm getting the right wheels. I want to downsize from the 20" wheels on it now to 17" and put bigger tires on it. I think I read here that I want negative offset but how much? How wide a wheel should I get? Also looking for suggestions on wheels. I want all black or mostly black without a lot of chrome/rivets and I want to keep it at or under $150 wheel/$600 set so any suggestions on what would look good would be great. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Gotcha. I actually have that bookmarked since I read through it before but forgot that it also had wheel info. Thanks.

I did the same thing. I think most lifts require -offset wheels. I went with 17x9 -13 and I am very happy with the stance the truck has. If I could go back I would have purchased slightly larger tires but very happy with the wheels. Within your price range. I went with mr wheel deal as they beat the other site I had priced the set at. Shipped with sensors, tires and wheels. Ready to mount.

I'm looking at some Worx Beast 803 17's and Nitto Terra Grappler G2 265/70/17. Would this combo work?

Those are decent tires. If you look closely at the floats in a *** parade, they all run nittos

You'd have to be more specific with the size and offset of your rims.

How high do you plan on lifting?

IMO

Get at least 285/70/17. Brand is up to you. Are you going to level soon or leave stock until the potential lift? Let me know if you want suggestions.

LOL, that's funny stuff there.

I actually decided on some Ultra Gauntlet 17's Ultra Gauntlet Black Painted

And Cooper Discoverer A/T3 265/70/17

As for the lift, it won't be right away but I'd like 4", if not 6" but not sure yet.

For the level, I may do that soon if I can find someone to do it. I want to do the bilstein strut method. As for tire size, 285's are $80 more. This whole deal is already costing enough, maybe I shouldn't be so cheap lol. Oh well. I like wider tires too, these will do.

You will regret those size tires as soon as you put them on. I have that size and would love some bigger tires.

Those wheels won't work with a lift. They are +20 offset. If you ever lift you'll more than likely be buying new wheels. As I stated above, go with at least 285/70/17 and if you plan to level soon go with 305/70/17 or 315/70/17. The 265s will look tiny stock and even more so with a level.

17 inch black rock steel wheels is what I have. They look awesome. With my 5.5" lift and 37" tires, 0 offset worked fine.

And this is the stance -12/-13 will give you with 12.5 wide tires. 1a51b4d2b8df50ff5bffcd7ef2d65791.jpg
Just right in my opinion.

That does have a nice stance. Unfortunately I believe the wheels I am lined up for have a +25 offset. They probably won't even stick out much if at all. I think stock wheels are +19 and they barely stick out. I'm rethinking this whole set now...

As I've said previously those more than likely won't work with a lift if you end up going that route. Won't clear the new suspension parts.

I honestly don't like truck with wide tire on a truck that don't have a 4"+ lift.

I put 17" with stock size ko2 with -6 mm and oem flare on my truck and it's just fine for me.

I didn't see the point the put 300$ more on the ko2 just to get 285" and lost in mpg and more stress on the suspension.

I think it's everyone choice, some don't like the look of the 265 and some don't like bigger tire , at least for me me I don't find them 300$ more beautiful.

Stock tire size with 17x9 -6mm offset

Ok, revamped the whole purchase.

It's going to be 17" Worx Tritons with a -12 offset with Nitto Terra Grappler G2 285/70/17

Next, to recoup some cash and do the level. Or just save up a good bit more and do the lift. Who knows.
