I have a 1997 Ram manual and I need to replace the clutch.
I cannot for the life of my figure out how to nondestructively remove this shift boot so I cam remove the shifters and access the top transmission bolts.
There are phillips screws hiding under the edge of the shift boot which I have removed, but it won't move. I tried prying hard thinking it might have clips or something and all I did was tear out two screws that are hiding on the inside of the boot.
I tried separating the shift boot from part screwed with hidden screws and they're connected with a rubber membrane. So they're one piece.
How on earth do you take this apart?
