2014 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi swap, would a 2021 5.7 Hemi work?

I have a 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi that has a cylinder 3 misfire due to a worn cam. The engine has 300,000 kms (186,000 miles). A local wrecker has two 5.7 hemi engines available both from 1500s. One is from a 2014 with 80,000 km and the other is from a 2021 with 7,000 km. Would it be possible to put the 2021 engine in my 2014 Ram or should I use the 2014 one?

According to some internet research and the wrecker the 2021 engine will swap OK, so I'm going with it. WHOO HOO!

Good advice. I believe it was a side swipe collision.

pull out the pushrods and check them before starting the truck to make sure they arent bent

Pay attention to the bushing in the rear of the crank,the 8 speed uses a differant pilot bushing then the 6 speed does.
