My 2015 Ram Eco Diesel just had the HPFP Recall done and they stated nothing found and system clean. I asked if they can see if the codes currently were regarding to EGR Recall done or intake issue. They stated no issue with EGR, but will need intake replaced. Dealer stated 1 day job, which now has turned in a week. Day to pick up they stated fuel rail indicates no fuel pressure, fuel returning and fuel lift pump check was sat and pumping fuel. the fuel pressure is reading zero when cranking the engine after all they work was done and will not build pressure. I know the ECM will now allow the truck to start until 3,500 psig has been reached. Now the HPFP recall was the bosch CP4 replaced with the modified CP4 units to solve the HPFP problem from eating itself due to bosch hpfp don't do to well with the american diesel fuel lubrication is lower than outside the USA. So they tell me they awaiting on FCA to provide answers.
Now the HPFP was replaced one week before the torn into the truck to replace the intake and allnow back together. Truck was running perfectly except codes for cold start manifold issue related to intake manifold. no issue in performance, fuel economy or when towing. now my truck diesel will not build fuel pressure. So there is a solenoid to this fuel pump in whcih has to get signal from the ECM to tell how much fuel goes to the fuel rail to injectors. If wiring runs thru harness which I don't know the routing of this but if it has to be around all the items involved in the intake. Would this solenoid prevent the fuel system rail to pressure to read zero on the SCAT they use. Can someone please tell me if I am off or have seen this problem before. I know diesels, but these electronically controlled engines are not like the older diesels, but they did have fuel shutoff solenods on newer mechanical controlled diesel engines. So I am trying to put basics here and read more info on this engine, which seems to have issues that I wasn't aware of.
