24V 1999 stock style lift pump noise

I just bought -99 Ram 2500 4x4 with cummins 5.9. Truck runs great but lift pump is making awful noise. Is this anywhere close to normal? I already got one advice not to drive before pump replacement. And I just ordered fass signature titanium series pump...

Lift pump noise

I have heard plenty of these lift pumps make noise like that. This noise is an indication of a looming failure. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the low side from the lift pump and see if it is still making proper pressure.
