4WD Clanking noise

I am having an issue with my four wheel drive and any help would be appreciated. When engaged in 4H a clanking noise is made when moving. I have checked both drive shafts and all U joints and all is tight and strong. I have even removed cleaned and reinstalled the $WD actuator and no problems with that. Any suggestions?? Time to check out the xcase snap ring. Remove the rear DS, then remove the xcase tail housing and see if the "C" clip is still in place. The "C" clip holds the output shaft in place if it's gone it needs replacing fast.
