5.7 O2 sensors.

I bought a 03 1500 5.7 and I went to do an oil change and saw that it had a set of Headman Long Tube headers with the O2 Sensor holes plugged. So I got to looking and the truck only has 2 O2 sensors. It has a cat on each side of the Y pipe and the cat on the passenger side has an O2 sensor in it and then there is another O2 sensor after the Y pipe. I thought these trucks had 4 O2 sensors. Is there a way to delete 2 O2 sensors?

The 2003 5.7 HEMI only has 2 oxygen sensors. One at the inlet of the large catalytic converter and one after the outlet.

The 2004+ 5.7 HEMI's are the ones with 4 oxygen sensors. The headers that you have will fit the 2004 models with 4 oxygen sensors so they install the sensors bungs in the headers so they can be used for several different year models.

One the 2004 and later trucks that have 4 oxygen sensors there is a way to delete the Downstream oxygen sensors but it can only be accomplished with custom tuning.
