Got A 5000k 55W Digital Hid Fog kit from Retro Solutions and decided to put them in today. The 55W Balasts are quiet large so mounting locations were limited. After a Quick Pm to JJ I was assured the ballasts are weather proof so I Mounted them to the frame rail right under the motor mount. I left some space under the mount (one finger width) incase of any movement. I Used 3M double sided tape to attach them to the rail and threw in one tie wrap just in case the tape lets go (it is a little cold here so not sure if glue on the tape will set)

Anyway just looking for opinions as to weather or not you guys think this will be ok? I took one pic of the lights but its quite bright out so I will add night pics sometime tonight.

Now my headlights look really crappy so.....MR JJ....Hook me up.....

Posted up some night pics. My crappy cell phone doesnt do them much justice but itll give you an idea.

For fog lights this kit is great. Really Bright and a Really clean White. It was also super easy to install. Took about an hour and most of that was finding a location for the ballast. The rest was straight plug and play.

Now I just need to get the headlights done

Not to knock anybody that is installing these types of headlight mods as I am sure everyone on this forum is reasonable about it, but please turn your fogs off, and dim your high-beams when someone is coming the other way at night. Something that drives me insane is lifted/leveled trucks (so the light points right in your face) with bright-ass fogs that the driver thinks it is reasonable to just leave on all the time.

I had my 35W ballast taped to the bottom of the fog light.
Worked beautifully, was a pain in the a$$ to get off!

When aimed properly I see nothing wrong with leaving them on. I think the cutoff is reasonable. The light spreads to the sides quite a bit but I'm not seeing faces in oncoming vehicles as we pass nor am I being flashed by oncoming traffic.

Maybe yours are aimed properly, but that doesn't mean that all of them are.

Gotta agree that I hate being blinded by an oncoming vehicle. That being said - it's nice to have a little something on your own vehicle to flash at them.
