Is this a projector only upgrade, or does it apply to the quads as well?

Yup I did this on my Rebel until I got HIDs installed. They were pretty bright. As a matter of fact, I kept them in my high beams.

I have since done the exact same thing. HID lows 35w 5500k and 9011 highs. The 9011 highs are super bright!!! Although 9011 lows are a great option too, Im súper happy with my new combo!!

The 9011 HIR1 is a high beam bulb and are intended for limited use there for have a short life span.

Has anyone used these as low beam replacements for any length of time without failure?

I've been asked a few times to post pics of the light output after converting to Philips 65w 9011 HIR1 bulbs in the factory projectors. The light output works well for me and doing all four for $36 total was a steal. I converted both the high/lows as they both use 9005 bulbs. Best part IMO is I didn't have to mess with drilling caps, running wires or worrying about ballasts burning out. I have the Philips 55w HIR2 9012 bulbs for the fogs but realized i hadn't done them yet, totally forgot as I got busy. Hope this answers the questions some had.

The 9011 bulbs can be found here, although they are now twice what i paid for them and still worth it IMO: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00480J5CW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The 9012 bulbs can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-9012...3933&sr=1-5&keywords=9012+hir2+headlight+bulb

9012 bulbs didn’t fit my fogs after trimming tabs (2018 Ram 2500 Laramie) , the diameter of the bulb base is larger on the 9012 than the 9145 bulbs. Wish I would have realized this before butchering the bulb.
