ABS / Brake light on & off help

My ABS & brake light come on and then shut back off for awhile an then comes on again. Sometimes it doesn't come on at all an then all of a sudden it'll turn on.

Brakes seem good, no real issues I've noticed. Still brakes like normal when the lights on.

Just can't figure out why it comes on & shuts off at random.

Has this happened to anyone an how do I fix it?

i had a 1998 dodge ram 1500 that this happened to came on and shut off when ever it felt like, even with a brand new braking system. My 2000 dodge ram 1500 does this as well with good brakes idk why they do it but its not only yours that does it lol

It could be a couple of things. If there is nothing affected by it then it is a sensor possibly on the front wheels. Not all trucks came with AWABS.

I read somewhere it could be the speed sensor on the top of the rear dif? Some say it's a $50 part an takes 10-20 minutes to replace an it's stopped for them.

Maybe I'll give that a try when I get some extra cash

Try to find a friend with a quality scan tool. The trouble code will be stored in the computer. The cheap Autozone ones might not be able to find it. Most likely it will be a bad sensor at one of the wheels.
