for anyone that does not have the factory tow mirrors on their truck...

are you using aftermarket slip ons? do you need them?

trailer I'm looking at is around d 25 foot total length....

I've read that the slip on mirrors will disable the turn signals on mirrors and the anti glare mirrors..??

I had the slip-ons on my 13 1500 and they had the cutouts for turn and puddle lights and had no problem with them.My 15 power wagon has the factory tow mirrors on it and they are far better then the slip ons.

Tow mirrors have no vibration, add on mirrors have a chance of vibration.
Tow mirrors are already on, nothing to store, nothing to scratch up the finish on the mirror.
Tow mirrors are easily adjusted from inside the cab. That is super nice in the rain and the cold... especially if you have a co-pilot who will tow for a couple hours to give you rest.
The Ram tow mirrors have the flat glass AND the convex glass. Slip on tow mirrors generally only have a small flat glass surface.

The Ram tow mirrors really aren't that expensive. My old Tundra tow mirrors cost $300 for USED tow mirrors. You can get new tow mirrors for the Ram for cheaper than that usually.

For a 25' trailer, you will want some type of tow mirror. Its your call about how much you want to spend. Either one will be better than no tow mirrors.

And I suspect they forgot to mention the additional backing plate that had to be installed too as a brace to prevent vibration ;)

I was going to add factory tow mirrors to an outdoorsman I was looking at until I saw the final price for parts was going to be over $1300 for the heated power mirrors with the led entry light etc. No thanks!

OP- **** is a really popular name on a lot of forums. Maybe check them out maybe. You don't *NEED* them, but once you have them you will see why everyone else won't go without once they try them. I towed for a number of years without, but would never go back now. Without them, you are relying on other motorists that are in your potential blind spots to be paying as much attention to you as you are to them. Doesn't always work out like that. And they are wonderful for reversing your trailer.

probably not even half that in the states. we're always getting bent over up here.

priced out some slip ons earlier and they were $130 but they seemed to be built pretty cheap so not sure if i want them

No ****. I just ordered a tonneau for my truck. $399.00 US online. $686.00 CN online with the same fu**ing vendor from one of their Canadian outlets.

sounds about right. i paid something like that for my roll up cover from the dealer. here's a good one for you, 2 years ago when the dollar wasn't worthless i wanted something from Cabala's which was only available through the US site. got it ordered which cost me something like $5 for the exchange rate plus $30 international shipping and another $40 for duty. now here's the good part, despite the fact i bought on a US site, exchanged currency, paid for international shipping and duty the package wasn't even shipped from the US it was shipped from Winnipeg. how in the hell can they charge me all those extra fess for something originating within my own damn country? i don't see how that's even legal

"Free Trade"

The loose translation means "we are going to dry smash you in the **** box"

I have the slip-on's. They...well, they're there. They provide some extra viewing angle that I didn't have before, but the flat mirrors generally suck.

That's crumbly and wet all at the same time. Free trade definition for the ages. OP- ****'s are great after market. Nice wind groove on the back that forces them down and all but eliminates vibration. FWIW, the Brother in Law thought they were factory til he got a closer look. Post a pic mañana.

The Ram dealer told me that since my 2015 2500 Lonestar didn't come with the Tow Mirrors, then it'd be ~$1300 for the pair. I looked at 1AAuto.com and found the exact pair I needed for $426 (heated, puddle lights, turn signal, temp sensor, power folding. Plus $0 shipping cost). When they arrived, I called the dealer just to see what they would charge to install; when they quoted me a price of $100 and it would take less than 1 hour, I jumped on it.

Sure, I could have installed them myself, but for $100 and 1 hour, it was well worth it.

I bought slip on tow mirrors and never use them because they vibrate so much. I could probably fix that, but honestly I really pull anything big enough to need them.
