I'm new to this Forum but joined hoping to get some help. I have a brand new 2024 Truck that I Purchased in February. I love the truck but i have had non stop problems with the radio system since day one. The carplay will freeze non stop. It freezes on my maps, so i miss my turn, it freezes on my messages so i miss calls and messages, it will dosconnect me constantly, which will drop calls back to my phone and i wont realize it. it freezes my music and It will sometimes go to an all black screen. Its very frusterating to have a super nice expensive truck and then the sound system doesnt work. I have disconnected and reconnected my phone. It happens to any phone that has been connected to it. I have taken it to the dealership several times and have a star case open on it. Once I took it is expecting for them to replace it, that's what i was told and they had ordered the part. When i picked it up they said that Ram told them not to change it out because they are coming out with a fix in the fourth quarter of this year which should be any time. I checked with another Ram location and they had not heard that. I have received horrible service at my Ram dealership service center since 2018 dealing with other trucks, so now Im wondering if they lied. Is anyone else having this problem? Has any one else heard if there is a fix coming out on it this year?

You could reach out to @RamCares to find out if the software update in the next couple months is coming and is targeted at what ails you. I haven't read anything about that specific issue being targeted by an update but always possible as updates are always coming. Good luck.

Sounds like a Stellantis script. They told us the same story on the uConnect 5 system in my wife's Pacifica. Kept checking for the promised SW update, and eventually got it, although months after the promised date. They did eventually replace the system, but we really had to keep after them. Multiple Star cases. The new system fixed the problems we were seeing, but they were different from your issues.

When I picked up my 2022 I had parallel issues to yours. A nightmare, hair-pulling frustration, it does destroy some of the joy of getting a new vehicle.

I read on a RAM forum about others with like issues and discovered a hard reset of the system and allowing about 24 hours or so for the radio to fully recover from the reset. It worked I've only had a couple of reoccurrences that were related to those darn over-the-air updates. After a day or so it seems all the features return and the system is stable.

You will have to search for the method to hard reset the radio, I would advise you to find a couple of different sources because there is a sea of misinformation out there that gets the model years confused. It is model year specific sometimes and you may do a procedure that isn't doing a hard reset.

Sounds like the same line of crap they've been feeding me since January (2024 as well)... my issue is with the radio (specifically the XM).
My carplay seems to work good... however, it won't connect to my phone on startup occasionally (iphone 12 pro).

If you hold the power button for 10+ seconds, it will hard reset the 12" radio.

I opened yet another star case... truck goes back in tomorrow for diagnostic testing. Stellantis told me in May they would have an update coming to fix the issue. I'm still waiting.

Good luck!
