Does anyone know the difference between the Black Appearance Package on the Big Horn vs the Laramie?

I know the Laramie gets the sport hood (Big Horn doesn’t) and different wheels, is that it?

Thanks. I’m second guessing myself a little bit lol. Went to the dealer with the intention of getting the Laramie with the black package but the incentives were so much better on the Big Horn. They had one with all the options I wanted (nav, panoramic sunroof, black appearance package, Hemi etc.) and I was able to get them to swap the seats for the Laramie leather and was still significantly cheaper than a Laramie w/ similar options but that sports hood is fantastic lol

I know what you mean. I really liked the Rebel but because incentives were geared towards the Big Horn I went with a Big Horn with the Off Road and Sports Apperance Package. I’m very happy with it, everything I wanted.

Figuring out options and what trim level they come on was difficult in my opinion. I’ve seen Laramies MSRP as low as $53k and a Big Horn optioned up to $59k and everything in between. Good luck! Best advice is to go walk dealer lots and see a lot of trucks. You’ll start noticing patterns dealer to dealer and how they order a vehicle geared towards their typical customers or even manager’s style preference. You’ll also see that many options come on these trucks that you didn’t think were available trim level to trim level.

I was looking at a BigHorn that was fully equipped minus the leather and that was almost $58,000. Made me wonder why are they making certain things available in those trims. I’m feeling if someone is buying a BigHorn, they are not going for all of the bells and whistles.

I think it can be beneficial to have the option to really tailor different trims if you know what you want. For me it made sense to go with a Big Horn with more options. I got the level 2 equipment group, panoramic sunroof, LED lights, Black appearance package , V8 etc and the dealer is going to swap in Laramie leather seats. With all the incentives on the Big Horn’s I was still able to get the truck in the upper $30’s. A Laramie with the same options would have been in the $50’s.

I lost the leather dash, cooled seats, keyless entry on the door handles etc but I’m very happy with the options I got at the price point it ended up at.

Just regretting missing out on that sports hood on the Laramie Black Appearance Package a little :)

FYI the sports hood is around 750-850 shipped to your house, pre paint.

So, figure 1k-1.2k at least to add it down the road

Exactly which is why I’ll be adding one to my Laramie as soon as supplies readily become available.
