Hey everybody I've got a 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi with a K&N Cai kit, Moe's 87 mm throttle body,Diablosport T2000 and a few other things. I currently have true cat back dual exhaust with twin flowmaster 40 series mufflers with 4 inch tips. I'm wanting to switch over to the Carven mufflers to get a deeper rumble and slightly louder tone without going too crazy. I daily drive my truck and I need some advice on deciding whether the Carven R or TR series would be best for me ??

I don't have anybody around me that runs carvens that I could listen to in person so any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you running 2.5 or 3” duals? Running any crossover or xpipe? I would run the tr as it should be slightly less raspy but otherwise both will sound very similar and very loud. I had the tr direct fit muffler in my truck and it was nice. A little loud but reasonable. Was debating on duals but I’m planning on headers and think duals would have been to loud for me so I swapped in a borla stinger dual catback kit.

Honestly man id have to check on the size because I can't remember exactly.

I have true dual straight back from the cats with no crossover or x pipe and tbh the mufflers are basically 40 series clones because I cheaped out a little when I originally had them done.

I hope I don't sound stupid but what's really the point of a crossover/x pipe

It’s supposed to help with scavenging and flow. All I know I’ve done from researching. You should look them up. Is it factory exhaust manifold and y pipe just cut or?

So most likely you have 2.5” back as the factory was 2.5 at the cats. How loud are you looking for?

I’d recommend the tr also, it’ll be stupid loud with r true dual. And as stated the x pipe helps scavenging and evening the exhaust flow out. Also helps add back pressure cause you’ll more than likely lose some low end power with true dual. It gives that loss back.

Im probably going to go with the TR series and have my whole exhaust system redone so I can make it look cleaner and have the x pipe done at the same time. My tips are starting to rust anyway so I might as well upgrade everything and do it right this time

The guy that did my exhaust used a different size pipe he added on when he did the work so not really sure how big of a deal that is.

Looks like he used the factory 3” to save some work

Yeah that's what he did I can't tell if it's 2 or 2 1/2 in the other side it's considerably smaller though
