ok lets do this.

first things first, we need to pull down the center console. you'll find four connectors holding it to the roof as dictated in the pictures here:

there are 2 located about here on both sides

and the other 2 are located here:

got them popped out? perfect! now seperate the gray piece from the black, stared from the front(closest to the window) the reason for that is because there are 2 "feet" towards the back that we dont want to break. the rest is connected by little tabs that just snap off fairly easy if you ate your Wheaties this morning.

did you break anything? if yes then stop what youre doing, oh you didnt? then lets continue.

you can pop that grey piece back up, you should see some grey plastic "pegs" holding up the chrome piece located here:

of course mine are off already but you want to take a flat edge screwdriver or hobby knife and cut those off.

the light will now pop off but take care puling it out. the light is attached to the chrome piece.

pop the chrome piece off by unhooking the chrome tabs. you have freed the ugly old light now

now take your new light and put it in and test to make sure you got it in the right way......no, turn it around......there you go.

you can put it all back together now but remember the "feet" on the black plastic piece. OR if you want that chrome piece back in you can take and drill small holes where those pegs where at and screw it on. i used some t6 torx screws from an xbox one controller as i had them on hand.

i know the chrome piece isnt in on this pic but who cares BLUE LIGHTS!!!!!

as for the light located here you cant change it out as the whole led is encased in plastic

Here's a picture from the outside with the blue LEDs.

Remember I did reinstall those chrome plates, however I think it might be brighter without them on. I'll need to confirm that

Very cool! Why the blue lights, though? I'm just curious. Can you see ok when you need to?

My truck is all brown and silver; exterior and interior. The blue lights give it a nice color pop imo. As for visibility blue lights Produce a higher wavelength on the spectrum. So I don't have and issues seeing other then everything blue baba dedadda die

EDIT: upon further inspection of the chip with the led in the rear dome light I discovered it's a dual layer chip(sneaky ********). The prongs for the LED is soldered on the lower layer then oats all sandwiched together....I can't remove that led so I glued some clear blue plastic over the led and it's blue, but it's hard to say how it looks in the daylight

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm new to my Ram 3500 Laramie and have this issue of "Flickering" on the drivers side. I love your writeup and feel this will be very easy to follow. I have one question. What Bulb is the correct bulb to buy?

**Edit... found the answer on another forum. https://www.cumminsforum.com/threads/2014-limited-map-light-led-replaceable.1826593/
it's a 194 LED, Ordered off of Amazon earlier this week, and confirmed by installing last night and I have good LEDs again!! **

What bulb size did you use I had apparently purchased the wrong ones (194)
What does not fit with your 194 LED bulbs ?
Too long ?
I believe some are a little bigger then others!
What brand did you get ?
