Anyone got a 2500 6.4 with a hard break pedal? I test drove a 2016 RAM 2500 6.4 megacab and the brakes about put me through the windshield, my 2015 RAM 2500 cc 6.4 has a hard brake pedal with weak brakes.dealer says its because my nittos are heavy, I have tried the stock tire setup and they didn't change anything

I have a 2016 outdoorsman crew cab. My brakes are exactly like you describe yours. I feel I really have to mash the pedal down to stop. On a brand new vehicle I wouldn't expect it.

I have to agree with Soper. I feel like I'm standing on the pedal sometimes PRAYING for it to stop. It's an odd feeling. That said....it always DOES stop lol. I think you really just feel the weight of the HD trucks more. I have considered looking into advanced brakes, upgrades and seeing whats out there. Whats funny is when I'm towing the trailer it brakes better than I would expect it to and always stops short as a result.

Another thing I've noticed on mine a few times is the actual pedal sticking. Like when you first go to press it it's stuck a little then presses down. It doesn't happen often, but it does once in a while and I think my heart skips a beat.

My 14 ram 1500 had similarly scary brakes. after about 7000 miles it got a lot better.

Now, my 15 2500 has the same stiff brakes that take a lot of effort. First off ramp coming home from the dealer almost made me need to change underwear. They've gotten a bit better after about a 1000 miles but definitely high effort.

I have the power adjustable pedals. They have the temporary 'stick' thing that also has gotten a lot better too. Barely noticeable now unless I'm paying attention/checking for the sticking. I think it's just the personality of these trucks.

Mine also got a lot better after 5000 miles. More likely I figured out how to compensate. At 8000 miles now and hardly notice.

I own a 2014 1500 cc 5.7 and a 2016 2500 cc 6.4. My 1500 will put you threw the windshield as well. My 2500 is hard to stop as well. Same experience as everyone else. So one day I looked under the hood. My 1500 has a brake booster which I am pretty sure runs on vacuum. My 2500 does not! It has the resovoir like the 1500 but has instead of booster is has a small silver what looks like an electric motor? So obviously they are two different systems. I would like it if a Ram Tech could comment on what Brake system the 2500 has?

My 15 outdoorsmans cc is the same way . Brakes feel better than my old titan and nicer than my wife's new murano.

My '15 2500 CC (with 37" tires) has aftermarket titanium (or teflon) zero expansion brake lines and its braking feels more responsive/strong than my '13 escalade. So maybe your brake lines is the culprit?

The 2500 usually have a hydraulic booster run through the power steering pump. 1500 vacuum. I haven't looked at mine though.

My '15 2500 CC pedal is very firm, but the 7100 lb truck stops just fine. At first the pedal felt odd because it was so firm at the initial press, but as long as it stops I'm good.
