Was advised that there was no plug and play adaptor for this series and that it had to be hard wired. Instructions are calling for the removal of the instrument cluster to obtain the grey wire/plug. Just seeing if someone has had to do this job

Thanks.

Ok well I guess I am the newb on this one. I have mine installed. The drivers side front and rear door work. The passenger front and rear do not. I know its me and not the product because I performed their test and they work I just have the wrong wires for that side. I need a violet/purple wire with a white tracer and a violet/purple wire with a yellow tracer. I have already hooked up the purple wire with gray tracer and the solid purple to the solid purple. I am doing all of this on my back under the dash exploring the one million color coded wires from Chrysler. They love purple with different color tracers. Any ideas?

I take it this won't work for your model:

Don't know anything about these.

Do you know what the v/w and v/y wires are supposed to feed? or are you looking for that info? I'll see if I can find anything.

So do your running boards do something besides light up? If they are just lights wouldn't you just tap into the closest parking lamp? When I saw the OBDII port splitter I got totally confused.

The plug and play will not work with my model. It has something to do with the system when a particular door is opened. One wire for each door. I have the front and rear drivers door working using their diagram but the passenger front and rear door is what it kicking my behind. They are powered running boards they deploy when the door is opened and fold under the truck when they close

Well I found them. Another write up that might help someone along the way. First, the heck with YouTube, read the damn instructions. As soon as I pulled the instrument panel, per instructions, which was super easy, I found my wires. After a brief lesson with a multi-meter I was able to use my needle point ends and double down on the exact two wires that I needed. I say that about YouTube kind of tongue and cheek because i have learned a lot from it, So much as sometimes I tend to lean on it as a shortcut instead of reading and following instructions and learning why something is done a certain way instead of just doing it. As soon as the cluster came out I immediately saw what I was looking for and everything tied together. I believe that its a mind game. When people, myself included, read things like "pull the instrument panel and search for two wires that are color coded and tap into" we immediately get apprehensive and say screw this. That's been my whole journey with this truck and I have learned a lot. I have also learned that some mechanical shops attempt to use the "scare the hell out of them" method when they are explaining things to people.
