I Have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie with a bad drivers heated seat element. I've had the cover off and found a wire in the element broken. I soldered it together and seemed to generate heat again, but too much heat. There doesn't seem to be a thermostat to stop it heating up, and so it burns out the weakest part of the element. My guess is I need to replace this unless there are any other ideas?
I've looked around for a replacement and looks like i need this specific part: 5101764AB https://www.mopardodge.com/oem-part...ab?c=bT0xJmw9MiZuPVJlY29tbWVuZGVkIFByb2R1Y3Rz
Unfortunately, everywhere its on back order and not available, so i either need to find a used somewhere or I was wondering if a 2006 version might some how work, eg: https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-seat-cushion-heater-4610096aa My thought is that the connectors may be different, but i gotta think this could somehow be made to work?
Open to any other thoughts or suggestions, thanks in advance!
