I kinda wonder about the milege,as that works out to roughly 562 miles "every" day for 10 years, with no down time calculated in for repairs to brakes / tire replacements ,or even time required to fuel it on a daily basis etc.

The engine with the highest mileage in the world
It belonged to a bus from the Mexican company “Omnibus de México” that never underwent repairs. For ten years it traveled the route from Mexico City to Ciudad Juárez, accumulating a total of 3 million and 300 thousand kilometers, equivalent to going around the world 83 times.
In 2019 the engine was removed, still perfectly functional, and transferred to the VOLVO museum in Sweden 1f1f8_1f1ea.png

Living in B.C. in the early to mid 90's, I recall my dad having an early to mid 60's Hourston hardtop 20' boat that he bought from the original purchaser who was apparently friends with Chuck Hourston.

Anyhoo... I say this as the boat had a Volvo Penta and no matter what, it wouldn't ever die.
It never let my dad down or left him stranded.

I remember him always praising that engine as one of the most dependable tough engines ever built.

Many a time we would go for a midnight cruise, and then out of nowhere a squamish wind would kick up and we'd be in swells that would break over the bow...

He'd yell out to snap the canvas on the back, and then flip on his two sumps.

Most famous of all is that he would say to never be worried unless the Captain put his drink down... (he never put his drink down... lol).

He'd work the throttle and wheel like it was a sunday summer drive in a park, drink and smoke, and knew his Volvo wouldn't let him down.
