Lowering Kit showed up today!!, best way to remove front springs??

looks like I will be installing it this weekend.
one question, because I have never removed and installed front coils without being a strut.
what is the best way to remove and install these things?
I have seen enough people on here that have installed lowering kits and cut coils. could you guys give me some pointers.
also should I use a spring compressor

That is the preferred and safest way is with the spring compressor

With that being said i used the jack under the lower control arm and SLOWLY released the pressure in the jack to let the spring tension out so i could pull it out and obviously dont stand in the sprins exit path if you go the way i did it can injure you or worse

That's an awesome spring compressor who makes it?
btw when I did my springs I didn't have a spring compressor but it would be safer to use one

The stock springs will not come out without some prying on the lower control arm to make enough clearance after you released all the spring's tension. Like mentioned I've always just released the tension by slowly letting down the my jack under the lower conttrol arm.

I just did the front tonight and it was cake!
so much easier then struts!
with the springs in the front it really didnt look that much lower, but I'm guessing they settle after a bit of driving.
I'm going to finish up the back and post pics tomorrow
thanks for the help!

Finished up today, truck looks great (aside from being dirty)
I'm going to write a thread on this but overall Mcgaughtys products are A+
Instructions F. Who ever wrote these is a jerk, probably did it in 15 min.
I used the spring compressor on the first one and didn't on the 2nd one
It's not needed
