Same here, my dad did 41 years in the MS ARNG (MSgt), his brother did 20 in the Navy (CPO), when I went AD they both said go AF, so I did. No jarheads in the family since WW2, we lost one on the death march, a former China marine. So, we can rib each other all we want.

I did some genealogy a few years back and discovered I have had kin in ever war this nation has ever fought (on both sides for two of them, some Highlanders for the Brits in the revolution, and some Tennessee kin in the War of Northern Agression ;)
I was Navy, younger brother also Navy, older brother Air Force (aka chairforce). Where I live now has a lot of retired military, I was able to salute at the funerals of several of them.
My wife's uncle was part of the death march, he was from Panama City, FL. He was a Hutchinson, a large clan to say the least.

The Navy… It's like Uber for Marines.

In all fairness and jokes aside, I was an O311/O341. I spent 2 years on Barracks Duty in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and did a Med Float on the USS Harland County, LST1196. I had numerous Navy friends along the way. I called them Squid and they called me Jarhead. My Navy friends hooked me up. Most of my Marine counterparts were too dense to see around the whole Navy/Marine thing.

It's kind of like the Hatfield's and McCoy's. Nobody knows why they are feuding, they just always have.
I was at AAWC at Crane Hill for 3 years, daughter was born there....
