I'm getting a tweak sound from my left side strut assembly. It's mor like a clink noise. When I brake hard or hit a good bump. There are only four points too check correct? The thre nuts on ttop of the coil spring tower. and the bottom shock bolt. Oops make that five upper ball joint, if nthat makes noise time for replacement right. I can also forget about an alignment until that noise is fixed regardless of what it is. Would an alignment appt find out what the noise is??:baby:

I'm sure an alignment shop can find out what the noise is. If I were a betting man I'd be looking at the ball joints. They aren't serviceable and tend to wear out pretty quickly.

Ball joint? I would go ahead and get it aligned, or take it to somebody and have them figure out what the noise is.

idk how anyone elses shop guys are but mine lifts up every vehicle and does a hands on check for all the ball joints and steering components before he even hooks up the alignment machine. this way when he does align it, he can get it as close to perfect as possible and wont have to worry about a bad part throwing it out again really quickly. hes been doing it for over 30 years and owns the business so he takes great care of his customers.

any alignment shop should be able to tell rather quickly if thats what it is.

you can check too. lift up your front end and put it on jackstands and have someone grab the tire at 12 and 6 and try to rock it. if you see and movement at all on the upper balljoint then its going bad.

to check the lower, use a pry bar under the tire and try to lift up the the tire. if any movement comes out of the lower ball joint then its going out.

Have you not had an alignment since you leveled the truck? I would get an alignment asap and I would think any reputable shop would be able to tell if you have something going bad. When I had mine done the guy at the shop told me the upper control arms had to be replaced and after giving me the quote from the shop for them to do the work he stepped outside and told me I could buy the parts myself and save alot of money, DUH!. He even recommended the brand part to buy, MOOG. I bought the parts and replaced them myself and then had the alignment done. Saved a ton.
