Just want to get some ideas. I had the oem bug deflector on my 3rd gen Ram and I miss it. Show me what you have!

Do they really help to deflect bugs and rocks off the windshield?

The one I mentioned would protect the leading edge from a rock ding but that's it. It sits flush to the hood with no raised edge to divert air current. It's more decorative than anything.

I like the aeroskin, but I don’t want anything that’ll stick to or cover the paint. I’ll never be able to clean under it

That's kinda why I like it... If it fits flush, it'll protect the front but not change the wind over the front. I put the Weathertech on a Silverado I used to have and not only did it NOT deflect any bugs, (we live in the Delta = bug hell) it messed up the air coming over the hood so bad, you had to install 3m tape on the windshield trim or it would flap at highway speed. In my experience they are purely for rock chip protection and aesthetics.

Yes that’s what I’m looking for. Can you still easily stick your hand under it to clean when washing?

I got a clear one and painted the back of it with a semi gloss version of my paint. On an overcast day you cannot tell I have one one without looking closely. It helps that mine is the black metallic. I'll see if I have a pic.

I got a Stampede 2259-8 deflector. As best I can tell it's the same as the weathertech. The Stampede is sold by Lunde industries who also handles AVS and other brands as well. Not weathertech though strangely enough. You can go on youtube and see the install process. It's exactly the same for both.

Not to thread jack, but has anyone else noticed since installing there visor that when you open the hood water pours out of the holes on the underside of the hood? Specifically the passenger side? The AVS has you remove the rubber gasket that goes across top of the gril before installing

Yes I have noticed it(I have the AVS, don't recall which model)but since the hood is made out of aluminum no worries about rust. In an unrelated case if you remove the front frame bolts water pours out of those even worse. I was looking for a suspension clunk a few months ago and found that out.
