I am sure this is just a coinsidence but today I finally had to turn the AC on in the truck on my way home from work (I was hot and the windows down wasnt cutting it). Anyway I turned it on and for the first 10min or so it bew nice cold air as I was heading towards the freeway, when I hit the freeway I accelerated up to 70 and I got this god awfull smell coming out of the vents. it was on the recirc setting not the vent setting but I have never smelled anything like that before, almost had a propane type smell to it but it was to the point that I could not keep the windows up. I rolled them down and the smell wasnt coming from outside, or at least in that area it wasnt coming from outside and as soon as I could breath again and the smell went away I rolled the windows up and continued on my way and it never did it for the rest of the ride home or from my place to my buddy's place and kept blowing cold cold air. Would not running it or the defroster since october cause something to blow when starting it for the first time or is this purely coinsidence that it did that?

Mine smells like a dead cat when I turn it on for the first time. Dunno but I bought this AC airbomb thingie for 20 bucks last year and it helped. Can't remember the name but you pop the top off and press the button and get out of the truck and let the AC run for about 10 minutes as it foggs out the interior (on Recirc). The truck smell really fresh for a while after that when I would use the AC.

My wife's car does the same thing in the mornings during the summer. I used to turn the compressor off and just let the fan run for about 30 second before I turned it off and that seemed to help a lot with the smell

^ let that condensation dry up before you shut the whole thing down. Or smell the overwhelming fart smell each time.

Yes, it comes from not running for a while. Some suggestion's from mechanics are to run your A/C at least once a month for a minute or two.

odor bomb by wurth products.

Used one in my sisters truck after the carpet got wet and nasty. Works like a sonofabitch.

I have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 2wd quad cab. I want to get a set of 24'' rims with 255/30 r 24 tires. Will they fit and are them tires a good size?

Haha, welcome Jeremy, nothing like a nice stinky AC thread jumping to a tire question.
Start your own thread, post some pictures, introduce yourself and settle in and be comfortable. I think there are at least two guys on here running 24's and they might be able to answer your questions. Good luck..
