Radio controls unresponsive for several seconds

This seems strange. If I had the radio turned up a bit the last time I drove and I want to turn it down, it seems I have to wait several seconds after starting the truck to have any control over the radio. I can't even turn the radio off, and even while it's displaying the warning about not using UConnect while driving, I can't acknowledge the warning. Curiously, it remembers that I turned the volume knob or tried to turn the radio off, because several seconds later the volume will suddenly go way down or the radio will turn itself off if I had pressed the power button.
