Hello, I'm considering on getting a new Ram 1500 through a custom order and am finding some significant differences in cost from the Ram build website and what the dealer is seeing when they punch things in. The difference is like $5000. When I look at other webpages to get a general idea of invoice pricing, it seems to more closely match the public facing webpage than the internal dealer page.

I anticipate that the dealer has internet access, ask them to sit you in front of a computer and build the truck on the Ramtruck.com website in front of them. Then ask them to reconcile the difference with their factory sales representative. The big manufacturers are trying to move to a more web based "build your own" buying process (like Tesla), so the Factory Rep should be interested in discrepancies between what the public sees and the dealer has to work with.

If you "Save" the build configuration, it creates a URL with the 3 digit option codes which you can use to make sure that the dealer is using the same option codes to build the vehicle that you're trying to buy.

That’s a good idea. I’ll do that. One think I noticed is the website shows A and B packages where the dealer order charges 1 and 2. That doesn’t take up the whole amount but puts a dent in it.
