My passenger's seat belt would not hold. Was able to make it hold by pushing and pulling up while pushing the release button. Seemed stuck and maybe the spring is bad. Have decided to replace the catch on the inner side.

Have heard there maybe an issue with air bags if i don't take proper precautions. Wonder if someone has already done this and knows the precautions?

My recommendation is to take the battery loose at the negative terminal, take the seat belt out, send it to safety restore, let them fix the seat belt properly and re install.

I don't think you really want to have the liability of a self repair on seat belts.

My opinion

Probably the biggest grief will be unbolting the lower seatbelt assembly, it goes clean through the underside and it's possible the threads are boogered up from just time (14 yrs for a 2012).
It's the lap/shoulder belt assembly that has more of the safety system integration to be concerned about, but unless that clip is damaged there should be no reason to replace it.
You can probably find a replacement at a local salvage yard in the correct color.

Thanks for the responses.. Have completed the repair. Bought a replacement part. Removed the negative from battery post. Then the four floor bolts to remove the seat. Then the one to remove the catch. Replaced the old one with new. Replaced the negative to bat - post and all is well.
