Hey all, I have a 2002 5 speed manual 5.9 Cummins with a bunch of aftermarket parts nothing crazy mainly basic upgrades and modifications. It has a FASS, Southbend dual disc clutch , AFE air intake, gauges, new VP 44, new shocks and air bags for towing, and a new driver side seat cushion, all done in the last 2-3 years. All in all the truck is in great shape, runs and has no mechanical issues. The only thing I think I have left to do is change the injectors, and I am planning on doing that at 250,000 miles. I tow a 10k lb. Bumper pull Camper, and drive it occasionally due to a work truck. It has 235,000 miles. I’m wondering everybody’s opinion if I should sell it and upgrade to a 2022 6.7?

Keep the old one if the body is still in good shape. You can do a LOT of upgrades, or rep[lace body parts, for $100,000. You also have a far more reliable diesel, no emissions, no DEF. Most diesel owners would love to have the older models. Only reason to upgrade would be if you can't get enough power for what you want to tow.

Yeah, body is in great shape. A small bit of rust about the size of a fist on the driver’s side door. Other than that it’s clean. It tows good, no problems, that 3rd gear is a mule!!! Thanks for your reply!

I would personally keep the 2002. I wish I had never sold my 2001. I currently have a 2022, and really haven't had much trouble out of it. I wouldn't purchase another covid truck though. I feel like I've been lucky though so far. Good luck on your decision.
