Hey all!
Just bought a 1997 1500 V6 and I am in the process of fixing some leaking seals, and I ran into an issue. It seems that the last person who worked on this engine put the RTV for the last bearing cap was put in the wrong place, i.e., the face of the cap instead of in the slots that are meant for it. So because of that the cap is "glued" in place and I need to remove it to replace the rear oil seal.
Things I have tried:
I am looking for suggestions as to removing the cap.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Things I have tried:
- tapping on the cap with a block of wood and a hammer
- sliding a knife blade between the cap and the block to try and remove it
- using a harmonic balancer puller to force the cap off. (spacing is weird, so this won't work)
- hitting it directly with a rubber mallet. (because of the oil pump driveshaft, I really don't want to do this)
I am looking for suggestions as to removing the cap.
Thanks in advance for any help.
