Hey folks, Current have a 6'4" LEER 100XL on my 2016 1500. Looking to buy a 2019 Gen5 truck, same color, and would like to keep the box cap. Will it fit? LEER number is not the same (64DR09 - 64DR19), but has anyone tried it? I only use the cap occasionally so the fitment doesn't have to be perfect. Thanks,

Bed is a lil different, like height, slope and 1" I think. Who knows, maybe U can put on there and Fred Flintstone it, LOL. Get U a friend and set it on there and see if U can cannibalize, wateva to make it work. Worst it can do is not fit and U just sell it and get another one. Just my INANE sense of humor BOIRD opinion.

OP: U gonna have to look also and find the longer Bed length on the DT 1500 trucks. The popular size is the shorter 5' 7", not the 6' 4" that you have the top for. You might have to go for a Quad Cab for the longer bed vs Crew Cab, you gonna have to shop around.

There are the dimensions now compare to yer 2016.

WELL, U can either drop yer rig on there and see if U can customize, or buy new and sell wat U got from the 2016. I personally have full tonneau on mine, as my needs are different. I also have the popular fitted 67" bed, not the longer one. Right now, truck looks like argh, weather.. 23 Jan 2023/1100 hrs.327882975_957555251898973_1423275154844851373_n.jpg

Found the answer i was looking for here with pictures https://imgur.com/a/36JKDHa/ It fits...'ish! Gen 4 box looks like it's 1in taller and 1inch wider where the cap meets the cab. Maybe Santa can bring me a new one next christmas...

I'm not sure what the external dimensions are (pretty close from the pictures above) but for the 5'7" bed the inside of the box is a little different. The 4th gen internal measurements for the top rails has a slight taper in from front to rear where the 5th gen is a rectangle (no taper).

Again, that's for the 5'7" bed. I am not sure if that translates to the long(er) bed or not.

Took some measurements for someone asking a similar-ish question: https://www.ramforumz.com/threads/5th-gen-distance-between-bed-rails.288576/
