Yet another grille swap question

I used the search before posting this.

I have a 12 Laramie 1500, and the chrome on the insert is starting to get green in some spots. I'd like to swap to the horizontal bar style but they seem less common around me in the 1500s. I see that the HD grilles look very similar up to 19 and I found a few locally but they're just a bit too far of a drive to find out they won't work. Maybe the inserts are interchangeable?

I know the 13+ 1500 inserts do not interchange and the newer grille will fit, but look goofy and to be done correctly the bumper, grille support and and a few other items need converted to be done right. I don't want horizontal bars that bad.

I'm also trying to avoid swapping inserts or grilles to an eBay/Amazon find as they generally pose some fitment issues.

Best bet would be fb market place. I always see used grills for cheap. 2500 grill wont fit. Inserts are pretty easy to swap out if you find a set.

Most of my local ones are all HD grilles. The rest are 13+ or my honey comb style or some ugly aftermarket trash.

I'll keep my eyes open. What I have now works fine, I just am not big on the look. Maybe I'll smoke a deer and be able to get 13+ parts [emoji1787]

Found a horizontal bar grille finally. Was much more difficult than I had anticipated but I was able to find it and installed it same day.
